“The Grand Star Party” will be organized by The JGI Group’s Sheratons Astronomy Club and is supported by Bangalore Astronomical Society. This is an event in which the participants will get a chance to observe the celestial objects through the Telescope the whole night, learn about the night sky and also will be exposed to Amateur Astronomy.
Purpose of the event:
Amateur Astronomy is one of the fields which is not explored much by the Indian public. There is lot of things out there in the universe for us to explore and learn. Amateur Astronomy provides an opportunity to enjoy the way in which nature presents itself. To gaze the night sky and learn what is there in the space is a gift to the mankind. But unfortunately many of us would not have got a chance to observe the night sky through the Telescopes, because of various reasons and one of them is that many of these equipments are expensive.
With regards to this and with a main intension to promote and popularize Astronomy and to have a platform where all the likeminded professional and Amateur Astronomers will come together, we from The JGI Group have come up with this event which is supported by Bangalore Astronomical Society to provide an opportunity for the people to learn more about the night sky and to educate them as to how they can take up Astronomy as a hobby, also about what are the opportunities and resources available to practice Amateur Astronomy.
