Star Party to Yelagiri/Kavalore

By Astrobrat; Published 30 Jan 2008

The regular BAS star party with lots of observation and a trip to the observatory at kavalore.

Kavalore is the largest observatory in Asia, quite the pride of our nation. It is a great privelege to be able to see it up front. Though we may not be able to get observation time from the telescope per se, it will be a wonderful sight nevertheless. In case we are not able to camp at Kavalore we would be moving to Yelagiri nearby which has similar pristine skies.

Plan also includes a trip to the Hogenakal falls close by.

Tentative plan is to leave on Saturday early morning and return by sunday evening. Accomadation would be at either Yelagiri or if things work out Kavalore it self.
